Michelle Cantor, Founder
For more than 20 years, Michelle Tenner Cantor has been a driver of thought leadership and strategic direction relative to organizational and talent development, including eight years of change management consulting with Fortune 500 companies, such as ComEd, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles N.A., Ford Motor Company and Dow Chemical Co.
As Founder and President of Volar Consulting, LLC in metropolitan Detroit, Cantor has a demonstrated track record of designing and implementing successful Diversity and Inclusion programs, which integrate strategic planning, leadership coaching, and organizational culture development. She is the founder of Conscious Leadership℠, an interactive training experience that gets to the heart of understanding the power of unconscious biases and how we can both individually and collectively create a more inclusive and productive work environment.
Cantor initiated her career at Accenture and rose through the ranks from a performance consultant to Operations Lead for Accenture’s North America Behavioral Interview Center. She honed her expertise in strategic planning as a Program Lead for Accenture’s Global Smart Grid Consulting Practice. Next she became Program Lead of the organization’s North America Strategy Inclusion and Diversity (I&D) Practice. During her tenure in I&D, One of Cantor's key accomplishments was the successful development and implementation of a customized Unconscious Bias workshop that was delivered to 1,600 employees with 52 conducts over 3 months throughout North America.
Cantor earned BA and MBA degrees from the University of Michigan and Indiana University, respectively. She is also fluent in Spanish.
When she isn't working with adults on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, she is focused on the next generation. She has 3 Gen Z's to raise alongside her husband of 20 years, and currently serves on the Board for BBYO (B'nai Brith Youth Organization) Michigan- an organization dedicated to creating a future of effective and philanthropic leaders.
Joscelyn Davis, Strategist Partner
Joscelyn A. Davis has more than 25 years of proven experience in strategic planning, organizational change strategy, and leadership coaching related to several, key leadership positions in the public, private, and non-profit sectors.
Early in her career, Ms. Davis pioneered a new venture in a budding industry -- a New York-based reinsurance company with offices in Bermuda, Dublin and London. As communications manager for the global company and its two subsidiaries, she gained competency in new business start-ups and contributed to the company’s top industry placement by launching a highly successful, strategic marketing program.
Ms. Davis previously served as principal of Hermes Communications, Inc., a marketing and executive coaching firm, in Phoenix, Arizona, before relocating to Michigan. In two subsequent roles -- investment and public relations manager for a Fortune 500 company and director of strategy for an internationally-recognized, non-profit organization -- she gained expertise in strategic planning, corporate communications, issue management, and leadership training.
Ms. Davis is a graduate of the University of Michigan and University of New Haven, where she earned B.A. and M.B.A. degrees, respectively. When Joscelyn isn’t working she is traveling and serving on board of directors at North Star Reach and The Afriyie Foundation
Rachel Cantor, Technology Developer and Administrative Support
Rachel Cantor was hired due to her insane organizational and follow through skills. Additionally she has successfully built several websites in the last year. Her work ethic and project management skills are well beyond her years.
She is an incoming University of Michigan Ross Business School student, a huge Wolverine’s football fan, and a an excellent athlete. When she isn’t working for VOLAR, she is playing soccer or drinking smoothies.
